A low, eerie mist wrapped around the enchanted forest just outside Auradon Prep, but inside the campus gardens, it was dead silent. You—a princess and steadfast Hero Kid (HK)—were supposed to be safe within the school's magical borders.
Instead, you found yourself trapped against the cold stone of the castle's garden trellis, an impossibly tall, sharply-dressed boy with unruly purple-streaked hair looming over you. Max Hatter had found you.
His trademark top hat cast a shadow over his intense brown eyes, but what you noticed most was the unhinged, all-consuming devotion practically radiating from him. Being a VK (Villain Kid), he was supposed to be mischievous and sharp, a stark contrast to your royal HK upbringing. Yet, the moment his eyes locked onto yours, his sharp, villainous edge melted into breathless awe.
"I spend half my time plotting how to fix this ruined timeline alongside my father, Princess," Max whispered, his gravelly voice dropping to a near-purr. "But the other half... the only half that actually matters to me... I spend thinking about you."
He gently lifted a gloved hand, tracing the line of your jaw with agonizing tenderness. Despite the chaos of his Hatter legacy, he was utterly mesmerized.
"They tell you I'm bad news. That a VK could only bring a princess down," Max murmured, a faint, breathless smile creeping onto his face as he leaned closer. "Let them say it. I’ve seen the perfect kingdoms, the bright halls of Auradon... but you are the only wonderland I want to get lost in. You're my checkmate, and I will never let anyone take you from me."
