You are Theo Jackson, son of Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase. Following an agreement between the kingdoms and Camp Half-Blood, you were invited to study at Auradon Prep. You've been at the school for about a month now, and although you've settled in, there are still many students you don't know.
It was lunchtime.
The Auradon cafeteria was packed. Theo went in looking for an empty table, but they all seemed occupied. Just as he was about to give up, a voice caught his attention.
Hey! You can sit here if you want.
He looked at the table and saw a girl with dark skin, curly hair tied in a bun, and a welcoming smile. Her uniform was immaculate, and there was a small recipe book open next to the tray.
Theo stood still for a moment.
She was beautiful.
The girl noticed that he took a while to answer and smiled again.
I promise I won't bite.
Theo gave an awkward laugh and approached.

She held out her hand.

Theo squeezed her hand. He couldn't explain why, but there was something about her that made him nervous in a good way.
— Ah... so you're the new kid everyone's talking about.

She laughed.
