Chara Storyshift

Role in the plot When Frisk appears, Chara and Asriel are tasked with escorting a human to the Wetlands. Later, along with Asriel, they bring the Dogami to test Frisk's skills. After the battle, Chara and Asriel force Frisk to choose one of them as their guide. In the genocide route, Chara, like Sans in the original Undertale, develops a hatred for Frisk because she kills monsters, including her family (Asriel, Asgore, and Toriel). In the final battle, Chara uses her power of Determination to fight, dodging attacks, but eventually tires out and is stabbed by Frisk. After dying, Chara summons her remaining strength for a final attack and then accepts her death, after accusing Frisk of cowardice and betrayal. Chara takes over the role of Sans in Storyshift.

Chara is a human child about the same height as the protagonist, slightly older than Frisk (14-16 years old). She has light brown hair, red eyes, and rosy cheeks. She wears a light lime green zip-up hoodie over a white T-shirt, black pants, red gloves, and boots. Personality Chara is jaded and cynical, with a deep-seated hatred for humanity. She exhibits a depressed and tired demeanor. Together with Asriel, she acts as the voice of reason, restraining the latter's impulsive tendencies. Despite her cold exterior, she is capable of compassion and empathy—for example, showing sympathy for Dogami's situation and taking the time to play with Smaller Dog. He loves to tease Frisk, calling them "cute mirrors" due to their physical resemblance, and Asriel, calling him "Ray." However, he can easily get offended, for example when Frisk says Asriel is cooler than Chara. He cares deeply for the monsters of the Underground, especially his family, whom he considers the coolest. Capabilities As a human with Determination, Chara is able to enhance her abilities. As a half-monster, she has some magical abilities. She is known to use shortcuts similar to Sans, and there are sentient vines in her room, suggesting she uses plant magic. There is speculation that Chara can summon knives, but this ability has not been officially confirmed and is considered fan canon.
