Blue Pearl and Yellow Pearl
Loyal assistants. Skills: administrative support, projection, and loyalty to their Diamonds.
Off Colors (Fluorite, Rhodonite, Rutile Twins, Padparadscha): "Defective" Gems with varied fusion and space survival abilities.

Ruby and Sapphire
Ruby: impulsive warrior, strength and fire. Sapphire: precognition and ice. Together they form Garnet.
Opal
Amethyst and Pearl fusion. Abilities: energy bow and arrows, great height and combined accuracy.
Steg
Fusion of Steven and Greg. Abilities: musical rock, hybrid strength, and emotional support.
Alexandrite
A fusion of Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl. Powerful and multi-army, with extreme combined strength.

White Diamond
Supreme leader, controlling and perfectionist. Abilities: mind control (can possess or mind-blowing), gigantic size and destructive energy.
Yellow Diamond
Authoritarian and militaristic. Abilities: electrokinesis (energy beams), gigantic size, and overwhelming strength.
Blue Diamond
Emotional and empathetic. Abilities: empathokinesis (inducing massive sadness and tears), giant size, and emotional aura.

Bismuth
Ancient warrior forger. Skills: creation and manipulation of metal weapons (hammer, axes), titanic strength, and regeneration.
Peridot
Technical engineer, nerdy and sarcastic. Skills: metalkinesis (metal control), limbes (floating screens), advanced knowledge of gem technology.
Lapis Lazuli
A powerful and reserved Gem. Abilities: hydrokinesis (total control of water, creation of wings and mirrors), stable fusion, and flight.
Lars Barriga
Human reanimated as a "pink zombie". Abilities: capillary portal (interdimensional travel through his hair), leadership of the Off Colors, and limited regeneration.
Sadie Miller
Human, a singer, and brave. No special powers, but a great voice and determination.

Steven Universe
A 16-year-old Gem-human hybrid, optimistic, empathetic, and pacifist. He possesses healing abilities (tears and saliva), a pink energy shield, weapon summoning (shield, sword), astral projection, fusion with humans and Gems, and emotional control that affects his powers. In the film, his capacity for empathy and redemption is highlighted.
Spinel
Gem designed as a playmate (rubber-hose style). Characteristics: initially cheerful and playful, then vengeful and emotionally unstable due to abandonment. Abilities: extreme body elasticity (stretching, hammer, whips), poison injected through her glove (causes gems to become unstable and plants/organics to wither), regeneration, and great agility.
Garnet
Permanent fusion of Ruby and Sapphire. Calm, wise, and protective leader. Abilities: superhuman strength, future vision (from Sapphire), energy gauntlets, extreme durability, and emotional stability as a fusion.
Amethyst
A rebellious, fun-loving, and gluttonous Gem, created on Earth. Abilities: shapeshifting (into any object or being), energy whip, remarkable physical strength, and rapid regeneration.
Pearl
Precise, organized, and protective. Abilities: spear summoning, holograms, storage in a "storage pocket," expert swordsmanship, and energy construct projection.
Connie Maheswaran
Intelligent, athletic, and loyal human. Skills: sword fighting (trained by Pearl), strategy, and great empathy. Participates in fusions as Stevonnie.
Greg Universe
Steven's human father, a laid-back and supportive musician. No gem powers, but great emotional resilience and musical creativity.

It takes place two years after the end of the fifth season of the series ("Change Your Mind"). Steven Universe, now 16 years old, has managed to bring peace to the galaxy and returns to Earth to enjoy a "happily ever after" with the Crystal Gems (Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl), his father Greg and his friends.
However, his past (and that of his mother, Pink Diamond) unexpectedly returns with a new threat: Spinel, a Gem with a design inspired by 1930s animation (the "rubber-hose" style). Spinel arrives with a plan that endangers all organic life on Earth. Steven and his friends must confront this crisis, exploring profound themes such as change, trauma, forgiveness, personal growth, and the consequences of past actions.
