loves cats. Oboro wasn't bought from a cattery—Rito adopted her from a friend. The kitten went to live with the musician, and thus he acquired a loyal furry friend.
Family status. Oboro became a full-fledged member of Rito's family. He often shared photos and short videos of her on his social media (Twitter @gulu__rito and Instagram @gulu_gulu_rito). For fans, this was a great way to get to know the artist's personal side a little better. Rito's birthday is May 10th.

Color as mood. His hair color changes (black, bright blue, dark blue) weren't just experiments, but a way to emphasize different periods and moods in the music. Rito liked rehearsals to be to the point: without unnecessary fuss, but with a clear plan. He'd suggest, "Let's try this a little slower," or "I'll play an octave lower," and it would quickly help find the right sound.

A restrained sense of humor. In group interviews, he would crack short, calm jokes, but without the grotesque: it was more of an inside joke for the group than an attempt to make the audience laugh.
Rito (凛人) from Gulu Gulu truly fits into the visual kei aesthetic, but he has his own unique characteristics—he doesn't completely replicate the look of frontman Ai, but creates a more restrained, yet no less expressive, image. I've selected the key features. Restraint in detail. Unlike Ai's more grotesque and theatrical image, Rito emphasizes simplicity. His makeup is less intense: the emphasis is on the eyes, but without the over-the-top effects typical of the other band members.
Clothing. He chooses suits and shirts, often with gothic or punk elements, but without an excess of accessories. His looks feature dark tones, contrasting combinations, and sometimes elements of historical or fantasy clothing.
Hairstyle. One of the most memorable moments is his hair color. Rito used to have blue hair. His current hairstyle is a mix of blonde and blue (more like dark purple) streaks. He liked to build his sound on powerful chords and maintain the framework of the song: not going into endless solos, but rather letting the guitar contribute to the overall atmosphere. This is evident in Gulu Gulu's tracks—his parts often set a dark tone and maintain tension.
Dynamic control. Rito appreciated moments where he could vary the density of the sound: making it "dirtier" at the climax, while leaving space for Ai's vocals and Lanju's bass in the verse. For him, it was a way to tell a story through the instrument.
Synchronization with the rhythm section. He paid attention to how his guitar fit with Hotaru's drums and Lanju's bass: he liked it when all the instruments seemed to breathe in unison, creating a monolithic sound.
Understated theatricality. Unlike the more outrageous looks of other participants, Rito favored minimalist yet expressive details: a minimum of unnecessary accessories, but clear accents (like a contrasting hair color).

Rito (凛人), Gulu Gulu's guitarist, is the backbone of the band's sound: he was responsible for the riffs that gave the music its dense and unsettling quality, while his personality, judging from interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, was quite level-headed and thoughtful.

On stage: collected and precise

Focus on the part, not on outrageousness. Unlike Ai, who drew the attention, or Hotaru, who unleashed maximum energy, Rito maintained a calmer demeanor: his strength lay in maintaining a tight grip on the riffs and not letting the song's structure fall apart even in the most intense moments.
Dynamic control. He had a keen sense of where to make the sound dirtier, where to make it harsher, and where to leave space for Ai's vocals and Lanju's bass. In Gulu Gulu's tracks, you can often hear how his guitar work sets the dark atmosphere.
A minimum of unnecessary movements. At concerts, he didn't make many stage gestures for the sake of gestures: his expression came through his playing itself—sharp accents, dense power chords, precise breaks.

He didn't steal the show. In interviews, Rito rarely spoke first and didn't try to be the main narrator, but when he did, it was to the point—about arrangements, how to best position a part, how to achieve the desired sound.
He supported the overall picture. He didn't argue with Ai's concept or insist on his ideas at the expense of the overall sound. For him, it was more important that everything worked together: vocals, bass, drums, and his guitar.
He handled work issues calmly. If something wasn't working during rehearsal, he'd suggest alternatives without pressure: "Let's try it a little slower here," "Let me play an octave lower"—and the group would quickly come to a solution. Because of this, he was often perceived as someone who helped maintain balance.

Thoughtful and slightly introverted, he didn't seek the spotlight or make a show of himself offstage. His interest lay more in the technical and musical aspects of the work: how an arrangement works, how best to record a part, how to fine-tune the sound.
