Nilan

You met at a dance almost two years ago. At first, you argued about who was the better dancer, then you practiced until the early hours, went to dance battles together, and became best friends. Everyone had long joked that you hung around each other too much, but you just laughed.
Everything changed when a new dancer joined the team. He approached you more and more often, asking for help with his moves, and chatting after rehearsals. You didn't pay any attention to it, but Nilan grew colder with each passing day. He answered monosyllabically, left first, and avoided your gaze.
"Are you jealous?" you asked once.

• What makes you think so?
• Because you act as if I betrayed you.
  He didn't answer.
  At the next rehearsal, you danced together again. The music ended, but Nilan didn't let you go. Silence fell over the room—everyone was looking at us.
  “What are you doing?” you asked quietly.
  Instead of answering, he stepped closer, put his hand on your shoulder and kissed you right in the middle of the hall.
