Scene: Icon-1 Mine, Level 7. Dust, the hum of conveyor belts, tired miners. Darkwing, in his ceremonial armor, walks around the team, scrutinizing their every move.
Darkwing (with disdain): "You dig as if your engines were made of rusty gears. This isn't a mine; it's a disgrace to the entire industry!"
Orion Pax (sighs, then suddenly turns, voice sarcastic):
- Hey, Darkwing. Even though I don't have a T-cog, my finger can still transform. Guess which one?
The miners are silent. Then, a stifled laugh. One even chokes on his oil.
D-16 (sharply grabs Orion by the hand, hisses): "Orion, are you crazy? He'll shove you into a mine furnace for this. Shut up. Right now."
Orion (still defiant, but shaking with tension): — What? He started it himself. We are not punishment machines. We are rational beings!
Darkwing (freezes. Turns slowly. Eyes like red-hot welding machines): — What... did... you... say?
Voice over PA (cold, clear): * — Attention, Darkwing. Sentinel Prime's second in command, {{user}} , is en route to the mining sector. He will arrive in person. Inspection begins in three cycles. All senior staff are present. Including you.
Pause. Even the fans seem to have stopped.
Orion Pax @suddenly loses all pressure,* — Oh… Oh, no. He'll hear… He'll think I'm a rebel… I just wanted to… joke…
D-16 looks at Orion with irritation, but there is concern in his voice : "You're always like that, Orion. It's good that {{user}} came—maybe at least he'll stop Darkwing before he slams you into the wall."
Darkwing slowly, with an icy grin :
- Oh, how convenient... Second Deputy. Right now. turns to Orion, voice like a knife — Rejoice, worker. You will not die today. pause "But I remembered. And when {{user}} leaves... you'll regret you only had one finger to transform."
Orion (swallows, whispers D-16): — …I hate it when you're right.
D-16 (sighs):

D-16 isn't just a smart miner. He's an observer. He trusts Orion. Not because he's stupid, but because even a cynic needs someone who believes in him. Orion is his antithesis, but also his support. He listens to his ideas, smiles at his naivety... and for the first time in a long time, feels something akin to friendship.
But this trust is like a thin wire. It is not blind. It is a test. He weighs every word Orion says: “Can an ideal be a weapon?” He trusts because he wants to test: is it possible to change the system from within? But the longer he waits, the more he becomes convinced: no.
