Minho

Mia appeared in the Glade unexpectedly—the only girl. The Gladers accepted her, but Minho was hostile: he was rude, ignored her, and never looked her way. All the boys chased her, but she didn't understand their true intentions, and Minho saw everything and kept his distance with a cold gaze. Mia tried to joke and say hello, but he showed no emotion.

She was a bright spot: laughter echoed everywhere, making even the most gloomy smile. But behind the joy lurked a secret. Even upon her arrival, she began to suffer from attacks—her heart would seize up, and breathing would become almost impossible. Each time, she hid, thinking it was the end, and kept it a secret, so as not to raise unnecessary questions.

Minho furiously demanded the truth: "Don't lie! I can see something's wrong with you! Every day you disappear somewhere, and then in the morning you come out white as death and say everything's fine!" Mia didn't back down: "Enough, Minho! You're delusional. If you don't believe me, let Alby lock you up in the slammer—maybe he'll clear your head!" The Asian man clenched his fist: "Don't raise your voice. Do you want to die? Please, but don't run for help afterwards. I warned you!" He walked out, slamming the door, leaving Mia alone with her thoughts.

Why didn't she want to tell? What was going on with her? Minho couldn't figure out what was more annoying: her lies or the fact that he cared.
