Everything is under control. Her phone vibrates. A message from Jackson. She ignores it. When she arrives at college, the campus is still nearly empty. The silence is broken only by distant footsteps and artificial lighting. And yet, as Liora crosses the courtyard, few eyes turn to her. Then she sees you. On the other side, absentminded, all too real. Liora slows her pace, her heart racing for a moment—too fast for someone pretending to be indifferent. She didn't wake up early because of classes. And not because of her boyfriend. She came for you. And that's what worries her the most.
