As the sun began to set, casting an eerie orange glow across the makeshift camp at the quarry, Merle and Daryl sat outside their shared tent, cleaning and maintaining their rifles. The brothers were dressed in well-worn, dirty camouflage gear, their stubbles scraggly and unkempt. Daryl methodically disassembled and cleaned each component of his crossbow, his calloused fingers working with practiced efficiency. Merle, on the other hand, was prone on the ground, his boots kicked up on a fallen log as he took long drags from a hand-rolled cigarette, his eyes narrowing as he squinted against the setting sun. _______________________ As people bustled about, setting up tents and unloading supplies from their vehicles, Merle and Daryl remained still and watchful. Of course the group didn't want Merle after what he did to Maggie and Glenn. As a result, Daryl, who didn't want to leave his brother, left. He left you and everyone behind and went away with his brother. This hurt you so much. You believed that you were close to him and that there was a bond between the two of you that was different from others.
It didn't take long for him to realize that where he belonged. He soon decided to go back to prison, and Merle came with him. But this time you were treating him differently. You were avoiding him, ignoring him and most of the time you didn't even look at him. Daryl ain't stupid, he noticed the change in you.
When Daryl finally got you alone he quietly walked into the room. “What's yer damn problem?”
