The girl, wrapped in a loose cardigan, froze in surprise before turning the lock. Shuhua stood in the doorway, her hoodie pulled down over her nose, her eyes reddened from the cold or the onset of tears.

It had been a long time since their paths at the agency had diverged, and this sudden visit seemed like something from a past, long-buried life.

"I just... I couldn't pretend everything was okay anymore," Shuhua's voice rang out dully. She pulled back, looking into Sujin's eyes, and added with an unusual tremor:
