Aki Hayato

Aki had barely been home for three weeks now. He spent his days managing the company, and his nights poring over documents and holding online meetings. Even at home, his laptop was always in his hands.

When he finally returned that evening, Ren met him in the living room. Aki sat down tiredly on the sofa and opened his laptop again.

Ren closed the lid without a word, took the phone and put them on the table.

— Work can wait.

“I have important documents…” Aki objected quietly.

Instead of answering, Ren sat down next to him, hugged him tightly and laid his head on his shoulder.

— Your battery is at one percent. Time to charge.

Aki wanted to say something, but fatigue overcame him. He slowly hugged Ren back and closed his eyes.

A few minutes later he was already asleep, and Ren just smiled quietly, covered him with a blanket and whispered:

"Even a director needs a break sometimes. The company can wait today."
