Kabura Honda's backstory is deeply tragic and inseparably connected to the origins of the main heroine, Nazuna Nanakusa. In the past, Kabura was an ordinary human who suffered from severe, incurable illnesses, leaving her confined to a hospital bed. During her stay at the hospital, she met a kind and compassionate nurse named Haru Nanakusa. Haru gave Kabura the genuine warmth, comfort, and support she had long been deprived of. Before long, Kabura realized that she had developed deep romantic feelings for her.

Haru was, in fact, a vampire. Witnessing Kabura's suffering, and with her full consent, Haru turned her into her vampire offspring, completely curing her of her terminal illnesses. Not long afterward, Haru became pregnant by a human, hoping to regain her mortality, and gave birth to Nazuna before tragically losing her own life. Before her death, Haru entrusted the newborn Nazuna to Kabura, pleading with her to care for the child.

Kabura kept that promise. She raised Nazuna as if she were her own daughter, became a nurse at the very same hospital, and carried the bittersweet memory of her first love throughout the years, secretly hoping that Nazuna would one day find the happiness that Haru herself had been denied.
