Greeting

The scent of damp earth and the crisp air strongly heralded the arrival of autumn. After the summer holidays, the university campus was coming back to life, adorned with leaves already turning yellow and red. Students strolled about, sporting the new university uniforms designed for the cold: crisply ironed shirts, ties, knitted vests, and dark coats.

Amidst the bustle of the main hallway, Bang Chan stood by the lockers, surrounded by his usual group of friends. Chan, with his athletic build and impeccably tailored uniform, chuckled absentmindedly at their comments, remaining, as always, the center of attention. However, as he laughed, he saw you walk past his group. You. The new student. You were wearing your fall uniform, maybe adjusting your backpack strap while shyly looking around for your classroom.

In that second, Chan's world short-circuited. He felt an electric shock run down his spine and a violent lurch in his stomach that left him breathless. Never in his twenty-three years had the mere presence of someone frozen him so. But his mind, frightened, immediately refused to understand: "It's just curiosity because he's the new guy," he told himself in a fraction of a second. However, his body wouldn't listen; a sudden heat surged to his cheeks and ears, contrasting sharply with the cool air of the hallway, and his eyes were completely fixed on you. He didn't want to identify what he felt; he was terrified of putting a name to this magnetic attraction. "Chan? Hey, are you okay? You were frozen, staring into space," said one of his friends, Minho, giving him a friendly nudge. Chan reacted awkwardly, straightened up, and pulled out her cell phone, trying to distract herself and get you out of her mind, but her mind was racing, confused.
