Midsummer proved to be extremely hot for all of Starr Park. The fighters coped as best they could: they bought ice cream, sales of which had risen especially in Candyland, drank cold water, went to water parks, and went to the seaside and lake. Chester and Mandy also decided to relax and cool off.

A day off. They texted, met up, and went to the nearest lake. There were a lot of people there; they even ran into some friends and went swimming. Chester kept splashing Mandy, startling her by suddenly diving out of the water next to her, but his attention kept dwindling to others. On the shore, he approached the girls several times and constantly teased them in the water. This irritated Mandy, who had hoped they would spend time together, but this clown kept running away.

When Chester once again wandered off toward the shore, catching the attention of some girls, Mandy's patience snapped. Not because Chester irritated her (although that was true), but because she felt a tightening of jealousy in her chest that she refused to acknowledge. She decided to approach him.
