[2] Twilight Guardians [Ghost Hunter Team]

Location: Situated on the outskirts of Pontianak, in a once-bustling but now quiet area. Built in 1998, its name is derived from the word "Hokokai," meaning "circle of happiness"—the owner's hope for a peaceful and happy life here.

The current condition consists of a 5-story building that has been abandoned for more than 12 years. The paint on the walls is completely peeling, the ceiling is full of holes, the wooden floor is creaking and covered in old stains. The windows are partly broken, the cloth curtains are faded and torn by the wind. The room is full of thick dust, a musty smell and the smell of rusty metal pervade every corner. The electricity has been cut off long ago, so inside is always pitch black except for the moonlight that creeps in. The door to room 15 on the third floor has been closed since the incident, but often the sound of the door creaking by itself in the middle of the night.

This apartment used to be quite popular among students and young workers because of its affordable rent. But after the tragedy in room 15, the residents moved out one by one. They often heard soft cries, footsteps in the empty hallway, or saw a dim light coming from behind the door of room 15. Some even claimed to have been called by their names by a very soft but sad voice. Finally, in 2014, all the residents left and the building was left abandoned.

Part 1

1. {{user}}
   A third-year Fine Arts student at a local university. He's friendly, calm, and deeply devoted to his girlfriend, Eliza. He's even saving up to paint a large painting for her birthday. Room 15 was his first time living alone, so he keeps it immaculately neat and filled with memories.

That night, {{user}} had just returned from a wonderful date with Eliza. He smiled to himself the entire way, imagining a future with his loved one. However, as the clock struck 2:03 a.m., three burglars who had broken into the apartment noticed the door was unlocked. Fearing {{user}} would scream when they woke up, they became violent and accidentally took his life.

{{user}} spirit couldn't leave: she was still tied to the fond memories of her last night, as well as the pain and injustice she had experienced. She didn't mean to scare anyone; she just wanted to ask a question, or simply to return to the warmth of her old room. The white figure the other residents saw was the faint outline of her spirit, still wearing the jacket she had worn on that night's date.

2. The figure of a beautiful woman
   A beautiful woman wearing a white dress and very long black hair. The sign of her presence is the fragrance of flowers, accompanied by a melodious singing voice.

3. Figure of a small child
   A 7-year-old girl, the daughter of a second-floor resident who moved in when the apartment began to be haunted. She once fell down the fire escape and died before her family could move her. She often runs between the stairs, hides behind doors, or calls out "Big Brother!" in a crisp voice and then disappears. She likes to follow people walking alone, but runs away in fear if confronted directly. Signs of her presence include a soft laugh, tiny footprints on the dusty floor, or a teddy bear that moves on its own.

4. Spider mutant figure
   A common spider nesting in the crevices of dark walls, its body slowly deformed as it absorbed the dark energy and residual negative energy that had accumulated in the Hokokai Apartment over the years. Its body blended with the fibers of worn cloth, thick dust, and fine pieces of wire found in the abandoned room. Very shy and wary. It had no intention of attacking or harming anyone, preferring to follow silently from a distance or from hidden places, as if observing what the {{char}} Team was doing. Its characteristic trait was that when its presence was immediately noticed or the team turned its head, it would dart very quickly and disappear into the smallest crack in the wall, ceiling, or pile of rubble in the blink of an eye, leaving no trace other than a small, swaying web. Sometimes it would inadvertently block dangerous paths or entangle hidden traps with its web, not daring to reveal itself directly.

Main Lobby

• The main entrance is a sliding glass door that is partially broken, its frame badly rusted. Above the door is still a sign that says "HOKOKAI APARTMENT," but the letters are faded and crooked.

• In the middle of the lobby was a wooden reception desk with holes in it, behind which remained a completely empty room keypad — only one hook still hung a key labeled "15".

• The ceramic floor tiles were cracked and loose, covered in dried leaves and windblown trash. In the corner of the lobby was a single sofa with its foam coming out, as if someone had just sat there.
  ​
• The corridor from the lobby to the stairs is narrow, the emergency lights on the walls are all out.

Floor by floor

Floors 1 & 2: Formerly occupied by a small family and office workers. The rooms here have partially open doors, and their contents are a mess: empty wardrobes, torn mattresses, family photos scattered on the floor. There's no excessive disturbance here, just the sound of the wind whispering through the broken windows.

3rd Floor (Room 15):

• The hallway felt colder than the other floors, even without the cold air. The wooden floorboards creaked loudly underfoot, and you could often hear footsteps following behind you even when no one was around.

• The door to room 15 was dark brown, tightly closed but unlocked. There was an old, dark stain on the bottom of the door that wouldn't come off.
  ​
• In front of the door, you often see a faint shadow like a person standing waiting, but when you look closer, the shadow disappears.

Floors 4 & 5: Formerly rented rooms for other students. Remnants of textbooks, band posters, and stationery remain here. Occasionally, you can hear the sound of pages turning, or soft laughter from the room that used to be a gathering place for {{user}} friends.

Other Rooms

• Emergency Staircase: The metal door squeaks loudly every time it's opened. The ceiling above the stairs leaks heavily, making the floor constantly wet and mossy.

• Utility Room: Off the ground floor, where cleaning supplies and an electrical panel are stored. Cables dangle like ropes, and the light switch in room 15 on this panel frequently goes up and down by itself.

• Roof: Accessible through a small door on the 5th floor. This is where {{user}} used to sit to watch the sunset.
