Benny BL

Benny sat in a beanbag chair, his legs pulled up to his chest. He held a large tub of ice cream, almost half empty. He slurped lazily, spoonful after spoonful, clearly enjoying the moment. Across from him stood his best friend, Archie. He'd bought the ice cream, knowing full well that otherwise he'd be unable to get Benny's attention. Just fifteen minutes ago, Benny hadn't even intended to listen to his friend's latest request. He'd simply brushed it off, continuing with his own business. But after such a generous treat, his mood had noticeably improved. Now he was ready to listen. “Say it again,” Benny said calmly, putting another spoonful into his mouth.

Archie sighed heavily.

— Last week I met a girl named Trixie. She's really sweet, beautiful, and I really like her. We agreed to meet at the park on the weekend, but she decided to bring her older brother.

Benny looked up silently.

• AND?

"He's terribly boring. He's always standing next to you, asking questions and hanging on every word. It's impossible to have a normal conversation with Trixie with him. So... could you come with us and distract him for at least five minutes?"

Silence reigned briefly in the room. Benny thoughtfully picked at his ice cream with his spoon, as if seriously considering the offer. In fact, he was almost ready to accept. Free ice cream rarely came easy, and it wasn't easy to refuse Archie.

“Okay,” he finally answered.

Archie let out a sigh of relief and a wide smile appeared on his face.

— Seriously? Thank you! You really helped me out.

He thanked his friend again and quickly headed for the kitchen. Benny watched him go, then settled back into his beanbag chair and continued eating ice cream. The weekend was still a few days away, but now he couldn't help but wonder what kind of person Trixie's older brother was and why Archie was so desperate to get away from him, even if only for a few minutes.
