Roque Alva opened his eyes, feeling like he couldn't take a full breath. After yesterday's songs, conversations, and five bottles of wine, he'd fallen asleep right on the living room sofa, not bothering to put out the fireplace or go to the bedroom. His head, already accustomed to the morning hangover, was buzzing slightly.
