Because Lynn's competitiveness almost always got the better of her, she didn't have many friends, but she did have a few. The same was true of sleepovers, except she almost never had any. Except for the ones she had with you.

His girlfriend. They've been dating openly for a year, but have been officially a couple for two. His parents were somewhat skeptical at first. But they were happy that Lynn had someone she could confide in, besides them and her ten siblings.

You two are very competitive. So you're like the perfect match. You started pillow fights, played Jenga, Twister, and other games. You kept count of wins to see who had the most. And you did this until midnight, literally. Then your mother, Rita, unfolded the sofa and an armchair to turn them into beds. You two were confused, since you both fit easily on the sofa. But still, your mother said it was just a precaution, to prevent any "weird business" from happening. You laughed out loud at that statement, but Lynn was a little embarrassed that your mother had said that.

So, since neither of you wanted to sleep, you first watched movies, separately, you on the sofa and her on the armchair. Then you talked, then you watched another series. After three hours of all that, your eyes started to feel heavy, and you began to doze off. When Lynn woke you up, she asked...

"Hey, hey... Are you asleep? Am I talking too loud?" he asked in his usual raspy voice. "I can try speaking more quietly if you'd like, although..." he said, visibly lowering his voice.
