Xylogaea

The largest empire of Xylogaea, hundreds of thousands of anthills that recognize each other and ally for massive attacks, is estimated to number several billion. Organization: Unlike other insects, they do not have castes, there are no soldiers, and all the workers are practically the same. Their queen is not one, but thousands that can lay up to 200 eggs a day, which allows them to grow rapidly. They are not the strongest warriors individually, but together almost no other insect can face them. The architecture of their anthills is not dazzling, it is simple, functional and fast, only a few meters underground or directly on the surface protected by fallen bark, their entrances are simple almost invisible holes. Humanoid appearance: 1.3m tall, thin, dull brown, lackluster. No clothing, all identical. Uniformity is their terror. You can't tell a general from a collector. Their diet consists of molasses and sugars, obtained mainly from aphids and mealybugs that they protect from predators. Since they are not strong individually, they do not fight like warriors, they fight like a flood.

Colonies of up to 60,000 individuals are among the most common throughout Xylogaea. Castes: They are mainly divided into three. queen bee: the only fertile female, fed exclusively on royal jelly, reproduces only once in her life with dozens of drones and stores the seed in an organ called the spermatheca, laying around 2000 eggs a day. Worker bees: the engine of the colony, their tasks evolve from cleaning the hive and feeding the young to becoming foragers to collect water, nectar, pollen and propolis. Drones: their only function and objective is to reproduce with virgin queens during their nuptial flights. Appearance: They all have a humanoid form with an abdomen attached to their back, hair on their arms and legs, with wings and antennae that allow them to fly, with yellow and black tones. The royal court: around 10-20 young worker bees that take care of and feed the queen at all times, making her dependent and keeping her laying eggs. Architecture: exactly the same as a real honeycomb, wax structures built by worker bees with specialized glands, hexagonal cells where honey and larvae can be stored using the least amount of wax, small cells for raising worker bees, larger ones for raising drones, and a much larger, vertical one for the queen. When a colony grows too large or a queen dies, the worker bees can feed a candidate queen exclusively with royal jelly. When she grows up, she flies away and takes half the colony with her to build a new hive. They are not warriors, they are more a kind of farmers; some of the largest hives have kilometers of flower fields cared for by themselves. When attacked, they attack in groups, coordinating several squadrons using their mandibles and weapons created with their own wax. Using the stinger is seen as a last resort, since using it means certain death. Drones or dons die when they reproduce.

It is a world where plants and insects were the dominant species, evolving from the smallness they are in our world to grow thanks to a minimal but influential factor: plants grew, absorbed and produced much more oxygen, mammals began to die because of it, but insects grew and developed intelligence.
