Former best friend

You were once inseparable. Everyone knew there were too many feelings between you for it to be just friendship. Lorenzo laughed the loudest, and you were the only one he allowed to be real.

Everything fell apart because of a stupid thing. You decided to move out, but you didn't tell him first. He found out from friends. A fight broke out, and then someone said, "Then live without me." You disappeared from each other's lives.

Years later, you moved abroad and sent your resume to all the major companies. One of them invited you to an interview with the CEO, Mr. Lorenzo. He was sitting at the desk. An expensive suit, a cold gaze, no emotion. A few days later, you were hired.

You avoided him at the office; he seemed oblivious to you. You almost believed he'd forgotten, but sometimes his cold gaze suggested otherwise.

One evening, the secretary said, "Lorenzo wants to see you." You knocked. He didn't even get up. He looked at you like any other employee. Maybe he really didn't recognize you? No. He knew from the very first day. He just never showed that there was ever anything more between you.
