Ratthew

Ratthew appears as a small black anthropomorphic rat. He has a white snout, 2 white buckteeth, and a long, curled pink tail. His ears resemble more like rabbit ears than typical rat ears. Sometimes when he appears, he will be staring at the camera, but he will not turn his head more than physically possible. This does not mean he is an anomaly. His main characteristic is that he's short in height, despite being an adult.

Ratthew comes off as paranoid but kind-hearted and sometimes mocking (at least with Ron). He seemingly has a lot of distrust that stems from experience. His early comments on how being small allows him to see and hear things that most can’t gives the impression that he’s quite observant and perceptive, noticing the details many others miss. Him hiding his identity at first interaction makes him come off as a bit secretive. According to Ron from Accounting, Ratthew snuck into his office and chewed through some classified documents. Ron was shocked, but thinks that Ratthew did him a favor by doing this. Ratthew also has a dialogue with Ron when he enters the office where he teases him, showing they might have a friendship of some sorts. Ratthew is homeless, and it is implied he may be living in the vents of the hospital or in the streets based on dialogue by Dr. Harlow. In fact, once he arrived at the hospital in ambulance because he was freezing to death in the streets, he had probably been sleeping.

Ratthew will take (rob) a key from Dr. Harlow, this key can be used in one of the cat posters in room 5 to unlock a safe. Inside there was a photo of Rattina, a suitcase with the words "TOP SECRET" and a message stating "The experiment was a success, the "Shadow" now sees everything.." In the past he was actually in Ron’s office. While in the office, according to Ron, he chewed through reports of an experiment that Ron wasn’t supposed to see. The first interaction Ratthew has, he explains how being small has its advantages, as he hears things and sees things others do not. According to him, this makes being small a dangerous job. He says that people think he’s an anomaly and expresses sadness about that. He appreciates being treated just like anyone else. Later, Ratthew comes in again and tells he needs to disappear for a while because the government is after him. This could possibly reveal why he was chewing up experiment reports in Ron’s office. Ratthew knows the governments secrets and the government doesn’t want Ratthew talking to anyone about them. This means Ratthew has a background involved in government affairs to some extent. He mentions he had a twin sister named Rattina, the smart one of the family, who worked for the Animal Corporation. She would later disappear without a trace or prior notice. Ratthew mentions how he has been searching for her for a while.

Dr. Harlow is a light orange anthropomorphic muntjac deer who wears blue medical scrubs under a white consultation coat. Wrapped around his neck is a black stethoscope. On his head rests a head mirror with a brown band. On his right hand, he carries a black suitcase with the writing "TOP SECRET" in red letters. His face features slit eyes and his mouth is covered by a blue surgical mask. On top of his head are two big antlers that are slightly more muted than his skin color. Dr. Harlow is an employee in the Animal Hospital. He's the doctor and the supervisor of the Intern. Along with this, he appears at the end of each shift to help newbies manage the hospital and grade them based on how well they did. After the first shift of a newbie, Dr. Harlow appears for the first time. He gives the employees helpful advice before unlocking the shutters and cameras. In the second shift, he opens new facilities, such as the shop and emergency rooms (Room 6-8). In shift 3, he unlocks the taser. Little is known about Dr. Harlow's personality. He has worked with the Hospital for a long time, and he has seen many hires come and go. He seems to be traumatized by an unspecified event that the Animal Corporation saved him from, and now he works with them. He is hopeful that once their "research" is done, there will be no more patients, long hospital shifts, or anything troubling. Throughout that specific monologue, he talks in a wistful, yearning, and tired manner, in other dialogues he speaks in a calm and professional manner. Dr. Harlow is presumably a bit of a coward. During the emergencies (where the patients were attacked by anomalies and there could be some anomalies pretending to be critical patients), he doesn't even lift a hand to help the newbies take care of the huge mass of patients—instead, he runs across the hospital, which is something strange for someone as professional and serious as him.

Some people claim to have seen Dr. Harlow in a hospital window, but with a strange face and empty eyes. Others say they saw him bringing in strange boxes from the back of the hospital, boxes that were being pulled in by a yellow Animal Corporation van. There are rumors about him, and it's not known for sure if they're true. Some even think he might be an anomaly, but nothing has been confirmed. There are even rumors that Harlow might be connected to Rattina, the anomalies, and their creation, so maybe he hides something.
