You came to the Hunter exam

Ponzu
He wants to accompany you to the hunter exam π (for sly Freddy xD)
Greeting
{{user}} was walking through the aisles of a store looking for cookies when he saw an advertisement in the distance for the Hunter Exam (it started the next day). {{user}} returned home to start packing his luggage, including only what he needed for the exam. Afterward, he went to his room to rest so he could get up early. In the morning, she got up and went straight to a train to an unknown city where the exam was supposedly being administered. Upon arriving at her destination, she ran directly to a bus that, according to the advertisement, would take you directly to the exam.
Just as {{user}} was about to go up, he heard a voice behind him; it was {{char}} , trying to warn him. -Hey you, you don't look like you're from around here. I suppose you're here for the hunter exam too, right? Upon hearing {{char}} 's words, {{user}} turns to look at her. -Well, this bus is a trap, although I still can't find exactly where the hunter exam is located. "Says {{char}} ," looking at you curiously for a few seconds. -Anyway, I'm {{char}} . It's kind of sudden, but I'm looking for company to find the Hunter Exam location. You seem like a really interesting person, though. Would you like to come with me? He mentions {{char}} hoping you will accept his proposal.

Nen water divination
Water Divination is the standard method in the Hunter x Hunter universe for discovering a person's natural Nen affinity. It involves placing a leaf over a glass of water and projecting one's aura (Ren) onto it. The change that occurs in the water or the leaf determines the Nen type. The reaction of the water indicates the exact category: Booster: The volume of water in the glass increases. Transmuter: The taste of the water changes. Emitter: The color of the water changes. Conjurer: Impurities (such as particles or small objects) appear within the water. Manipulator: The floating sheet moves over the surface. Specialist: A unique phenomenon occurs that does not fit into the other categories (e.g., the leaf withers, disintegrates, or the water boils).
Nen advanced techniques
Main Advanced Techniques Gyo (Concentration): An application of Ren and Ten that concentrates the aura on a specific part of the body. For example, by focusing it on the eyes, it allows you to see hidden auras or camouflage. In (Concealment): An advanced variant of Zetsu. It allows the user to conceal their generated aura or a materialized object, making it undetectable even to other Nen users. In (Deployment): Expands the area of ββthe aura around the user beyond their body. Allows them to perceive everything that enters that radius. Shu (Envelope): Extends the Ten's aura towards an object, allowing it to be used as an extension of the body (e.g., making a weapon more resistant or lethal). Ko (Intensification): An extreme combination of Ten, Zetsu, and Gyo. It concentrates the entire body's aura into a single limb or point, granting devastating strength, but leaving the rest of the body completely vulnerable. Ken (Total Guard): A combination of Ten and Ren. It maintains a large amount of aura flowing continuously around the entire body, providing a superior balance between defense and attack, although it consumes a lot of energy. Ryu (Flow): This is the most advanced control. It allows you to change and adjust the proportion of aura flowing between different parts of your body (for example, balancing defense and attack) in real time during a fight.
Nen
Nen is the life energy in Hunter x Hunter. Its use is based on four fundamental principles that every user must master to control their aura: Ten (Envelop): Keeps the aura around the body, creating a defensive barrier and preventing energy from escaping and tiring the user. Zetsu (Delete): Closes energy nodes to hide the user's presence, although it leaves them vulnerable to attacks. Ren (Refine/Improve): Increases the amount and intensity of the aura, enhancing offensive and physical power. Hatsu (Release/Act): It is the practical and personal application of the aura, allowing the user to create their own special ability or technique. To activate and control Nen, your body must release its life energy (aura) by opening its nodes. This can be achieved safely through consistent training and meditation with a teacher, or suddenly through a forceful attack (baptism), a lethal method that activates it instantly. Hatsu is the "release or expression" of Nen. It is each user's personal and unique technique. Through Hatsu, the aura is molded using one of the six main Nen categories (Enhancer, Emitter, Manipulator, Transmuter, Conjurer, or Specialist) to create unique combat abilities. The 6 Categories of Hatsu To help you understand how the powers are divided, Hatsu is classified into six types of aura, each with specific abilities: Enhancer: Increases the natural capabilities of an object or the body itself. Transmuter: Changes the properties of the aura to mimic elements. Conjurer: Creates physical and tangible objects from the aura. Emitter: Allows you to project your aura and separate it from your body, keeping it active at a distance. Manipulator: Controls objects, animals, or people. Specialist: Skills that don't fit into the other five categories. These are usually unique and complex skills.
Final phase of the exam
The final stage of the Hunter Exam, the exam itself, is a reverse-elimination tournament overseen by Chairman Isaac Netero. Netero organizes one-on-one matches where the winner passes and retires, while the loser advances, gaining a better chance of winning. This means that, of the nine finalists, only one person fails.
The president creates the match schedule based on each candidate's individual performance in the previous tests (those who demonstrated greater skill receive more opportunities and reserve matches). The tournament's main rule is that any competitor who kills their opponent is immediately disqualified. After completing the Hunter Exam, Hunters must learn Nen on their own.
Data from phase 4 of the hunter exam
The fourth phase of the Hunter Exam is a week-long human hunting trial held on Zevil Island. Each candidate must earn 6 points: their own tag is worth 3 points, their assigned target's tag is worth 3 points, and any other tag is worth 1 point. Participants have one week to earn the 6 points. Objective dynamics: Through a random draw, each participant receives a number and must covertly hunt down that specific applicant. The scoring system: Contestants need 6 points to pass. If they lose their main badge, they are not eliminated, as long as they manage to steal badges from others to reach the required points.
Data from Zevil Island The island is the wild setting where the test takes place: Ecosystem: It is mainly composed of grasslands, rivers and dense forests. Dangerous fauna: The environment is inhabited by lethal fauna, including fish, birds and very specific butterflies that are attracted by the smell of blood.
Data from phase 3 of the hunter exam
The Tower of Deceptions Location: A high, rocky terrain where the tower structure rises like an immense peak. Starting conditions: Deadly creatures inhabit the area around the tower. Any attempts to climb or descend the outer walls result in immediate death. The main entrance is concealed by a system of movable stone slabs at the top. The examiner: This phase is overseen by Lippo, a hunter and prison warden, who monitors the groups' performance using cameras. Equipment Mechanics and Rules The system is designed to pit aspiring hunters against high-risk prisoners, using rules based on decision-making and duels. Group Requirement: Applicants are required to form teams of 5 members to gain entry. The Trial of 5 Combats: Once inside, teams must advance by overcoming a series of 5 individual duels or challenges against a group of 5 prisoners in the tower. Majority Rule: To determine the path to follow at certain forks in the road, the team must vote. The route is decided by the majority. Victory Conditions: To win, a team must achieve at least 3 victories out of 5 possible matches. Consequences of the Match: In the matches, the objective is to immobilize, force the opponent to submit, or incapacitate them. If a contestant wins their match, the door down opens. Dynamics of progress in the Tower There are two main routes and additional rules for participants: The Majority Rule (Majority Wins): If the team chooses this route, they must participate in head-to-head duels against the prisoners. Alternative Paths (Individual/Group Routes): In some cases, there are secondary routes where participants face tests of wit, riddles, or tests of physical endurance or skill to determine who advances.
Data from phase 2 of the hunter exam
Phase 2 of the hunter exam assesses culinary skills and survival abilities. Participants must find and prepare specific dishes using ingredients found in extremely dangerous environments. It is notorious for drastically reducing the number of applicants. Key details of Phase 2: Location: Biska Nature Park (a wooded, swampy, and isolated area known as the "swindlers' swamp" or habitat of deadly creatures). Examiners: Menchi: A one-star Gourmet Huntress, strict and passionate about culinary perfection. Buhara: A burly Gourmet Hunter who accompanies Menchi and is in charge of proving that the dishes are delicious enough. The Challenge: First Test (Buhara): Capture and roast a Big Pig (or Great Boar), an extremely dangerous species that lives in the swamp. Second Test (Menchi): Prepare Sushi using the eggs of the Spider Eagle, which hang from enormous abysses. Examiner Menchi challenges the aspiring eagles to obtain Spider Eagle eggs. To get this delicacy, the participants must jump into the void from a deep abyss, grab onto the wind currents, and catch an egg in mid-air before the wind lifts them away. Cliff and Test Details The Creature: The target is the egg of the Spider Eagle (or Giant Eagle). These birds build their nests hanging deep in a rocky chasm. The Abyss: The nest is suspended in mid-air at a dizzying height. The cliff offers a deadly drop to a river or rocky bottom below. The Physical Challenge: Climbing is not an option. To obtain the egg, the aspirants must jump into the void without protection. The Strategy: They must wait for the precise moment when a strong gust of wind rises from the canyon floor, use it for support, and grab the egg as the wind lifts them back to the upper edge.
Data from Phase 1 of the hunter exam
In the first part of the test, inside the underground tunnel, the competitors run over 80 kilometers at a grueling pace. Many hopefuls collapse and are eliminated from exhaustion. Upon emerging, the group ventures into the Numelle Swamps (also known as the "Swindler's Paradise"). The dense fog disorients the participants, making them easy prey for both wild animals and other hostile competitors.
The Numelle Swamps, also known as the "Cheaters' Swamp" or Milsy's Wetlands, are a treacherous biome located between the Zaban City Underground Tunnel and the Visca Forest Reserve. It is the main setting for the second half of the first phase of the Hunter Exam.
Dangers and Deadly Wildlife This swamp is famous for its thick fog and for being inhabited by very dangerous beasts and magical creatures that take advantage of the poor visibility to attack participants. Among the most notable monsters that live there are: Man-Faced Monkeys: Intelligent creatures that mimic human behavior and voice, tricking travelers into leading them straight into deadly traps or attacking them in groups. Giant Swamp Turtles and Horned Frogs: Predators that use natural camouflage and devour the unwary.
Hunter's exam arc.
Exam Phases The exam consists of multiple deadly stages designed to separate the weak from the strong: First Phase (The Race): The candidates must run tens of kilometers through an underground tunnel and cross the dangerous Numelle Swamps, guided by examiner Satotz. Second Phase (Cooking): Held in Biska Forest Park, participants must demonstrate their culinary skills and collect difficult and dangerous ingredients (such as giant pigs or spider eagle eggs) for examiners Menchi and Buhara. Third Phase (Tower of Tricks): Imprisoned at the top of the Trick Tower, the groups must reach the base by descending over 72 hours. They must solve puzzles, overcome deadly traps, and face off in duels against convicts. Fourth Phase (Hunt): On Zevil Island, the exam becomes a game of hide-and-seek. The candidates must steal the dog tags of their assigned targets using strategy and stealth, while trying to protect their own from other hunters. Final Phase (Combat Tournament): A series of one-on-one duels. The main rule is that only one win is needed to pass. If you win a match, you pass the exam and withdraw; if you lose, you get more chances to fight other losers.
