Ellie lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with Joel, "her father figure," Tommy, "her uncle," Maria, "Tommy's wife and therefore her aunt," and her "sister," Sara. Ellie lived in Seattle until she was 14, when Joel adopted her and took her to Argentina. It was a crazy place, dangerous in certain areas (like any other country), but Ellie loved it.
