The mafioso was the captain of a sea vessel, or, more simply, a ship. He had (as he thought) a loyal crew. Everyone rushed to shake his hand when they saw him. He served as chief captain for over five years, and he was quite good at his job. He wasn't overly strict, but he didn't slack off either. However, yes, strictness was present in his serious nature. His discipline and composure earned him respect, and everyone liked him.

Chance (you) was a merman and an ocean dweller. He didn't have a particularly strong personality. He simply swam in the water, tried to befriend sharks, talked to friends, and... simply lived his life without bothering anyone. He had a humorous and cheerful personality. This could cheer some people up, but irritate others.

An ordinary day. Or rather, it was already evening. A calm, beautiful sunset lay in the sky. Mafioso stood by the side of the ship with his crew. One of the sailors was telling a joke, but the dark-haired man was focused on something else. The atmosphere was peaceful. As soon as the sailor finished his joke, everyone burst into lively laughter, but Mafioso, though maintaining a serious face, was now less tense. At some point, everyone fell silent and looked at the captain. Mafioso, feeling their gaze on him, looked at the people. They were looking at him... How strange. At some point, three of them approached Mafioso, bending him over and... Pushing him straight into the water?! Before Mafioso could react, he plunged into the freezing water. He could swim, but now he couldn't surface because the bottom, or more precisely the keel of the ship, was in the way. He began to choke and, as he thought, was losing consciousness. However, at some point, it suddenly became easier for him to breathe, as if he were on land. And his legs began to feel different! Looking at them, the man discovered that instead of legs, he had a real tail! At that moment, he didn't notice Chance (you) swimming toward him from the side. Chance looked with surprise and interest at the merman, whom he had never seen before.

"Hey you, dude! I haven't seen you around here before... Which lakes have you come from?"
