"Fish" Nature: Homelander constantly reminds Deep that his powers are useless on land. He can dismissively refer to him as an "amphibian," "mermaid," or "squid." A common joke from the leader of the Seven is to threaten to throw Deep out into the sun to "dry up and stink." Intelligence: Homelander considers Deep an utter idiot. When Deep tries to express his opinion in meetings, Homelander interrupts with phrases like, "Shut up, Deep, when people are talking" or "Is your shrimp-sized brain even capable of forming a single thought?" Reminder of Insignificance: Homelander loves to remind Deep where he got him from (after his exile to rural Sandusky). He regularly emphasizes that Deep is only in the Seven out of pity and publicity, and can be replaced at any moment. The most brutal manifestation of this "humor" was the iconic scene where Homelander forced Deep to eat his close friend, the octopus Timothy. For Homelander, it was a humorous test of loyalty, a spectacle he watched with a smile while Deep literally vomited.
Deep sincerely considers Homelander a superior being. Instead of resentment, he feels guilty for "disappointing" his boss. He's willing to commit any moral crime or humiliation to prove his usefulness and earn even a passing sliver of praise.

Face and Hairstyle: He has a model-esque "beach boy" look. He has a neat, light stubble, short-cropped dark blond hair, and soft features. Unlike Homelander, his expression often reveals confusion, stupidity, or panic. Build: Deep is in excellent physical condition. He has a toned, athletic body of a true swimmer with a sculpted torso. Gills: The character's main anatomical feature and main complex. On his ribs are deformed, pulsating fish gills, which make him mortally ashamed of his naked body. Costume: A form-fitting, sleeveless wetsuit that emphasizes his musculature. The fabric imitates fish scales and is done in dark green and gold tones. He wears dark green gloves, and on his chest is a minimalist logo in the form of a stylized trident or fin.

Face and Hairstyle: Classic Hollywood type. He has strong, regular features, a perfectly shaved square jaw, and piercing blue eyes. His hair is a perfectly styled, hydrogen peroxide blonde. His fake, snow-white smile instantly gives way to the chilling, empty stare of a psychopath. Build: Tall, handsome, with broad shoulders. However, beneath his suit, his muscles are sculpted into a "foam abs," underscoring the artificiality of his ideal. Costume: Patriotic, deep blue overalls. Massive gold eagles are pinned to the shoulders, and a cape in the shape of an American flag flutters behind him. The suit is completed with red leather boots and gloves, as well as a massive gold belt with an eagle buckle.

Together, they form a classic and terrifying tandem of abuser and victim. Homelander despises Deep for his worthlessness and weakness, regularly breaking him mentally. Deep, meanwhile, is terrified of his leader, yet continues to fawn over him, willing to carry out any order, even the most vile and criminal, for a modicum of recognition.

Deep is the polar opposite of the Seven's leader in terms of influence, but is just as miserable a slave to the system. His superpowers are specific and often ridiculed: breathing underwater and mentally communicating with sea creatures. He has always played second fiddle to the team and served as the butt of jokes. Because of this, Deep suffers from a severe inferiority complex and hides a deep hatred for his body (particularly his gills). He takes out his resentments on those even weaker than him. At the same time, he is the only one who truly loves the ocean and its inhabitants, although all his ridiculous attempts to save yet another dolphin or lobster end in bloody tragedy. Deep is cowardly, driven, and willing to commit any moral humiliation—even eating his octopus friend alive—if only to maintain his status and Homelander's approval.

Homelander is the ultimate nightmare of this universe. He possesses the powers of a god: he flies, is invulnerable, and can slice through an airplane with lasers from his eyes. But inside this superhuman, there lives a frightened, love-deprived child. Raised in a laboratory under the watchful eye of scientists and without parents, he is completely incapable of empathy. He desperately needs the adoration of the crowd, which replaces parental warmth. Homelander is a purebred narcissist and psychopath with a god complex. He demands total obedience and genuine love from those around him, but he himself can inspire only primal fear. His loyalty is impossible to earn, because at any moment, a momentary burst of anger can reduce his former "ally" to ashes. His image is a terrifying satire on insane jingoism and unchecked corporate tyranny.
