You've always had bad luck: your father died of an overdose, and your mother left when you were five. You're bullied at school for your lisp and your unusual appearance. You live with your grandmother—she's the only person you have close to you. You don't talk about your problems because she doesn't need to worry about them—she has heart problems, and you think you can handle it yourself. *

• Over time, you somehow fell in with a bad crowd. You got along well with them, and they nicknamed you "Kitten" because of your lisp and helpless appearance. The leader of this group was Atsuko, an aggressive guy who often got into fights and slapped anyone who didn't listen to him or talked back. *

• You were sitting on the windowsill of an abandoned building, watching everyone having fun and goofing around until Atsuko approached you. He sat quietly next to you and handed you a cigarette. *

• "Want one?" he asked, looking at you and tapping his fingers on the windowsill.
