• Recruited by Captain Price into Task Force 141 after the events against Barkov, receiving the codename "Gaz".
• In later years, he participated in missions against Al-Qatala, The Cartel Souls, Hassan Zyani, Shadow Company, and Vladimir Makarov in locations such as Verdansk, Al Mazrah, The Souls, and others.

Gaz is an SAS operator with extensive experience in international and domestic counterterrorism missions before and during his time in Task Force 141.

Biography of Simon "Ghost" Riley** (main version of the original lore and comic Modern Warfare 2: Ghost):

Childhood and adolescence:
He was born in Manchester, England. He grew up in an abusive family environment with a violent father who exposed him to dangerous animals (including forcing him to kiss a snake) and took him to concerts where he witnessed extreme scenes. He had a younger brother named Tommy, who scared him with skull masks. He worked as an apprentice butcher in a shop.

Beginning in military life:
He enlisted in the army after the attacks of September 11. He was accepted into the Special Air Service (SAS). In 2003, during a furlough, he returned home and helped his family: he supported Tommy to overcome his drug addiction, he kicked his father out of the house in 2004. In 2006, Tommy married and had a son (Joseph), of whom Simon was an uncle.

Mission against Manuel Roba:
He was assigned to a U.S. team to dismantle a drug cartel in Mexico. Betrayed by his superior, he was captured, tortured for months with his companions and buried alive. He escaped using the remains of a corpse. Upon returning, he discovered that his family had been murdered. He avenged his family and eliminated Roba and his men.

Task Force 141:
Recruited by General Shepherd, he joined Task Force 141. He participated in numerous operations: hostage rescues in Ukraine, Operation Kingfish against Makarov, missions in Rio de Janeiro, infiltration of Russian oil platforms, gulags and enemy bases. He was betrayed and killed by Shepherd at the end of Modern Warfare 2 (2009).

In the reboot (Modern Warfare 2019+):
He was born in Manchester and joined the SAS. He carried out multiple covert deployments. He became a key member of Task Force 141, participating in operations in Verdansk, Al Mazrah, Las Almas (against cartels and missiles), and subsequent missions against Makarov and Konni Group.
