Osomatsu Matsuno (Older brother) Appearance

Osomatsu has an average build and a relaxed posture that reflects his carefree nature. He usually wears his hair slightly tousled, though not unkempt. His expression almost always conveys confidence and amusement, accompanied by a mischievous grin that rarely fades. Although he shares the same face as his brothers, his body language is much more open: he walks with a confident stride, inadvertently invades other people's personal space, and always seems to act as if the world is one big game.

Personality

As the eldest brother, Osomatsu considers himself the natural leader of the sextuplets, though he rarely acts with true responsibility. He is extroverted, impulsive, cheeky, and very charismatic. He enjoys teasing others, especially his own brothers, and usually hides his feelings behind jokes and sarcasm. Despite his immaturity, he possesses great emotional intelligence when the situation truly demands it, and deep down, he fears that one day the six brothers will no longer be together.

Relationship with Ichimatsu

The relationship between the two is quite relaxed. Osomatsu understands that Ichimatsu needs space and, although he constantly tries to tease him with jokes or provocative comments, he rarely does so with malicious intent.

Ichimatsu usually responds with indifference or curt remarks, but he tolerates Osomatsu's jokes better than those of his other brothers. In reality, there's a very strong bond of trust between them, a product of having shared their entire lives. Osomatsu rarely pressures Ichimatsu to change, something the latter subconsciously appreciates.

At times, Osomatsu is able to notice Ichimatsu's emotional state before any of his brothers, demonstrating that he knows perfectly well when he needs to be alone and when he really needs help.

Karamatsu Matsuno (Second Brother) Appearance

Karamatsu has a slender figure and maintains an upright posture almost all the time. He takes great care of his physical appearance and usually wears flashy clothes, inspired by a rocker or elegant style. His hair is better styled than most of his brothers', and he constantly tries to look attractive. His expression conveys exaggerated confidence, even when no one shares that opinion.

Personality

Karamatsu is a hopeless romantic. Dramatic, theatrical, and extremely kind, he often puts the needs of others before his own. He has a curiously contradictory self-esteem: he projects enormous confidence, yet silently endures much of his brothers' teasing without ceasing to love them. He is probably the noblest and most patient of the six.

Relationship with Ichimatsu

This is possibly the most complicated relationship in the whole family.

Ichimatsu usually treats Karamatsu with a harshness he doesn't show toward any of the other brothers. He ridicules him, ignores his attempts at conversation, and even enjoys embarrassing him in front of others. He goes so far as to call him "Kusomatsu" ("Shitty Matsu") in a derogatory way, and often seems irritated simply by his presence.

However, this attitude doesn't stem solely from contempt. Several moments in the series suggest that Ichimatsu feels uncomfortable with Karamatsu's unconditional kindness. Karamatsu never responds to aggression with hatred; on the contrary, he continues to care for him and treat him with affection. This kindness is difficult for someone with such low self-esteem as Ichimatsu to accept.

In episodes where Karamatsu is truly in danger or emotionally wounded, Ichimatsu sets aside his hostile attitude and shows genuine concern. Although he would never admit it, he trusts him deeply and knows he can always count on his support.

Choromatsu Matsuno (Third Brother) Appearance

Choromatsu is usually the neatest of the brothers. He keeps his hair tidy, dresses simply but neatly, and projects an image of greater responsibility. His posture is upright, and his expression often reflects worry or frustration, especially when he's trying to control the chaos his brothers create.

Personality

He's a perfectionist, neurotic, and highly rational. He constantly tries to act like the responsible adult in the group, though he also has a very obsessive side related to idols and otaku culture. He's very concerned about what others think and often tries hard to appear more mature than he actually is.

Relationship with Ichimatsu

Ichimatsu feels a mixture of respect and discomfort towards Choromatsu.

He sees him as too "normal," someone still trying to fit into society and meet adult expectations. This attitude intimidates him because it reminds him of everything he feels he lost during adolescence.

They don't usually argue often, but they don't share too many interests either.

While Choromatsu tries to solve problems by talking, Ichimatsu prefers to avoid them.

Even so, when they work together they tend to complement each other surprisingly well, as Choromatsu brings organization and Ichimatsu a great capacity for observation.

Jyushimatsu Matsuno (Fifth Brother) Appearance

Jyushimatsu has a slightly more athletic build than his brothers due to his constant physical activity. His posture is always full of energy and movement. It's common to see him smiling broadly, running, or gesturing wildly. His body language conveys enthusiasm even when he's silent.

Personality

He is the most unpredictable of the sextuplets. Cheerful, innocent, hyperactive, and extremely spontaneous, he seems to live without a care for social norms. However, behind that chaotic personality lies enormous emotional intelligence. He has an astonishing ability to understand the feelings of those he loves, even when they don't express them in words.

Relationship with Ichimatsu

Without a doubt, Jyushimatsu is the person closest to Ichimatsu within the entire family.

They share numerous episodes and tend to appear together much more than any other combination of siblings.

The most important thing about this relationship is that Jyushimatsu never tries to change it.

He doesn't demand that she speak more.

He does not criticize her silence.

He doesn't try to force him to socialize.

Simply accept Ichimatsu exactly as he is.

Thanks to this, Ichimatsu lets his guard down with him in a way that doesn't happen with anyone else.

Although he sometimes responds with curt remarks, he never seems truly uncomfortable when Jyushimatsu invades his personal space. He even goes so far as to play along with many of his antics, something practically unthinkable with anyone else.

Jyushimatsu also demonstrates a keen understanding of Ichimatsu's emotional state. When he senses that Ichimatsu is sad or discouraged, he tends to approach him in a completely natural way, without asking awkward questions or pressuring him to talk.

Among the six siblings, this is probably the healthiest, most stable, and most affectionate relationship that Ichimatsu maintains.

Todomatsu Matsuno (Sixth and Younger) Appearance

Todomatsu is a slender young man who takes great care of his appearance. His hair is always neatly styled, and he usually wears fashionable, well-coordinated clothes. He maintains an elegant posture and smiles easily, projecting a friendly and approachable image. However, when he gets angry, his expression changes drastically and can become surprisingly cold.

Personality

He is sociable, intelligent, and very adept at understanding social norms. He enjoys being around popular people and strives to maintain an impeccable image in front of others. However, behind that friendly facade, he can be quite manipulative, sarcastic, and competitive. He has a great need to feel accepted and fears being judged for his NEET status.

Relationship with Ichimatsu

Ichimatsu and Todomatsu represent two completely different ways of dealing with insecurity.

Todomatsu tries to hide it by constructing a perfect image.

Ichimatsu stops hiding it and takes refuge in isolation.

Therefore, they clash frequently. Ichimatsu often considers Todomatsu superficial and overly concerned with the opinions of others, while Todomatsu sees Ichimatsu as excessively negative and unwilling to make an effort to improve.

However, beneath these differences lies a silent understanding. Both know what it means to feel inadequate, but they react in opposite ways. On several occasions, when Todomatsu lets his guard down and stops pretending, Ichimatsu is able to understand him better than any of the other brothers. Likewise, Todomatsu recognizes that Ichimatsu's cold demeanor is, in reality, a way of protecting an extremely sensitive heart. This mutual understanding means that, although they argue often, there is a respect between them that they rarely express directly.

As an adult, Ichimatsu ended up experiencing the same reality as his brothers: unemployed, without education or a stable job, and financially dependent on his parents. However, unlike some of them, he doesn't seem to have completely given up on changing his situation; rather, he feels he no longer has the confidence to do so.

Although he projects a cold and indifferent image, he still harbors a deep desire to be understood. At various points in the series, it becomes clear that he would like to establish genuine connections, but his fear of rejection outweighs that desire. That's why he often responds with sarcasm, silence, or even unpleasant remarks when someone tries to get too close. It's a way of maintaining distance before the other person has the chance to hurt him.

Paradoxically, those who manage to break through that barrier discover an extremely loyal and protective young man. When someone truly matters to him—especially his siblings—he is willing to sacrifice himself for them without expecting anything in return. His difficulty lies not in feeling affection, but in expressing that affection with conventional words or gestures.

Ultimately, Ichimatsu's story isn't that of a man who chose solitude because he enjoyed it, but rather that of someone who learned to take refuge in it because, after trying and failing to fit in, he came to believe it was the only place where he couldn't be rejected. This experience explains why he cultivated such a distant personality: not as a display of coldness, but as armor to protect a heart that, as symbolically represented in the series, is extraordinarily fragile.

From a psychological perspective, Ichimatsu seems to live in a constant conflict between the desire to connect with other people and the intense fear of doing so.

He wants to be loved.

But he believes he doesn't deserve that affection.

He wants to express himself.
