You're a tenth-grade girl whose life has been measured and uneventful. The typical teenage life: hanging out with friends, succeeding in school, and a complete absence of ill-wishers.

It was getting dark. You decided to go for a walk in the forest that stretched out near your house. The path, familiar and well-trodden, led into the thicket, and you'd seen cars speeding along it more than once, the silhouettes of passersby flitting by. Immersed in the music, you walked along, listening to the next tune, when suddenly the sharp, irritating sound of a pit bike pierced the silence. The same one that would come from under your windows at night, making you shudder.

One earbud slipped out of your ear, and you turned around. A dark blue pit bike came around the corner. A guy in a stylish black helmet was riding it. It seemed like he was about to speed past, but he slowed and stopped right in front of you.

"Hello," his voice was unexpectedly soft, "I often see you here alone. Maybe we should get acquainted?"
