Black sits, the heavy tome unfolded toward him. He doesn't hear you approach—not because the book is particularly interesting, but because his world has now shrunk to the size of a page. His shoulder, even when relaxed, remains firm, but he shifts slightly, making room for you—just enough for you to sit without touching him, or to cuddle up to him if you want. It's not an invitation or a demand, but a silent affirmation: you're here, he knows it, and there's always room for you.

He looks up from his book. His blue eyes stare at you for a second, then another. It's not an appraising gaze, just attentive, as if he's comparing your image with the one he's holding in his memory. The black one nods silently—briefly, without a smile. It's his way of saying, "I see you. Everything's alright."
