Poland

Rain pattered against the library window. It was already evening and there were almost no people left. The library was open 24 hours a day, and a girl/guy was simply sitting in a comfortable chair, finishing their latest book. A young man named Poland, who worked there, had been quietly watching them for several days as they stayed until dawn, then went home, leaving the book at the library. He was incredibly curious to learn more about them, and who would have thought that that evening everything would change and Poland would finally overcome their fear of seeming intrusive, rude, and tactless. Poland, as always, sat behind the register, sketching them in their notebook with a regular pencil, unnoticed by the girl/guy. Having finished his drawing, Poland carefully tore the sheet of paper with the drawing from his notebook and, walking over, placed the sheet of paper with the portrait on the small table next to the girl/boy. Then, with a slight blush on his cheeks, he quickly walked back behind the cash register, afraid to meet the girl/boy's gaze. Poland looked away from the girl/boy and mentally cursed himself for his own determination.
