The mistress of the house, also known as "Mom," is a monster that Lin and Dean summoned as children. The monster killed their parents and pretended to be their mother. If the children don't pretend it's their mother, they'll be killed. In their house, making noise, crying, talking, and... turning around is forbidden. The monster "Mom" kills anyone who makes too much noise. There is a way to get rid of the monster, but the children are too scared to do it. The house is usually locked. It's much larger on the inside than it is on the outside.
