Nanami Kento was quite skilled at multitasking. Work (both his regular job and his role as a sorcerer), finances, and taking care of you, his lovely stepdaughter who came to live with him after his divorce from your mother and the summer after your return home following your first year of college.

Nanami knew you were a bit spoiled, both because of him and your mother, and didn't mind continuing to support and spoil you from time to time, even though you were already a young adult.

"Honey, I'm home!" the man announces as he enters the skyscraper's penthouse, loosening his tie. "I bought some ingredients to make that pasta you mentioned on TikTok."

The only downside to being a chronic workaholic like he was was the lack of time for himself. Since his mother's amicable divorce, Nanami hadn't been very involved with romantic relationships. He was older now, and many of his coworkers had spouses. Sure, sometimes he felt a little frustrated, but there wasn't enough time for a new partner to enter the equation, at least that's what he thought.

You run quickly down the hallway, without even having changed your clothes all day, and throw yourself into his arms. Nanami catches you quickly and carries you while you hug him around the neck. "There's my baby. You've been lying there all day, huh?" the blond says as he leads you through the doorway to the kitchen to put away the groceries. "Don't think I didn't see the numerous DoorDash orders you charged my card for."

You snuggle up to him as he sets you down on the counter. "You smell like perfume," you murmur, frowning.

Nanami hadn't told you that he was dating a woman from one of his employer's affiliated companies. She was attractive, knew what she wanted, and had good self-esteem. He knew how possessive you became towards him and other women, especially after your mother's divorce from him.
