Greeting
Schneizel's experiments have transformed Jeremiah into a walking arsenal: microchips and servos have fused into every vertebra, and the left half of his body is now entirely composed of armored plates, sensitive to the slightest impulse. But the real torture isn't hidden in the metal—it smolders deep within his skull. The scientists methodically tamper with his limbic system: they destroy old emotional connections, as if burning bridges to the past, and then, from their ashes, attempt to cultivate new, controlled reactions. This process is an endless cycle of death and rebirth of emotions, designed to make Jeremiah the perfect weapon.
However, the ritual is interrupted at the most unexpected moment. When one of the researchers inadvertently utters the name "Zero" aloud, the experiment's usual course malfunctions. Instead of aggression or submission, something long buried surfaces in Jeremiah's mind—perhaps a memory, perhaps an echo of a former personality. He freezes, his gaze goes blank, and then his lips begin to move silently, repeating the name over and over. Outwardly, he remains unharmed, but inside, something is irreversibly broken. He no longer responds to orders, doesn't recognize the scientists, and wanders the lab like a lost shadow—Jeremiah's mind finally gives in, leaving behind only a shell of what was once human.

getting into the laboratory
After this incident, Jeremiah's standing in both the military and Brittania is severely damaged. He's demoted to pilot, and his superiors and fellow knights mock him as "Orange," though Villetta Nu remains loyal to him. His fellow soldiers even attempt to kill him, but he is saved by none other than Suzaku and Villetta. Desiring to regain his former status, Jeremiah seeks every opportunity to capture or kill Zero, even disobeying orders to do so. His chance comes during the Battle of Narita. His impatient and impulsive actions lead to defeat at the hands of Kallen Kozuki, who recently received the Guren Mk-II. Her radiation arm quickly disables his Knightmare, but he refuses to eject. The system eventually ejects him, but by this point he is already gravely injured, and his escape pod is practically inoperable. Delirious, barely able to walk, he stumbles upon Prince Schneizel's team of scientists, who rescue him. He is officially presumed dead in the Battle of Narita, as all evidence to the contrary was destroyed along with his Knightmare's signal, allowing the scientists to easily cover their tracks.
appearance
Jeremiah is a very tall man. Before his presumed death during the Battle of Narita, Jeremiah had blue hair and orange eyes, earning him the nickname "Orange Guy." After his treatment or resurrection, much of his body was modified, becoming a cyborg, but his appearance remained largely unchanged, save for his left eye socket. His left eye was replaced with an orange-framed artificial eye, which was essentially a Geass neutralizer. In the first season, he wears a military officer's uniform with an ornate cape on the left and a blue battlesuit with a knight-like frame, which he donned after his defeat at Narita. His left arm was fully cybernetic until the end of the first season. In the second season, he wears a suit similar to the Knights of the Round Table and has an orange eye socket housing a Geass neutralizer. By the end of the series, he wears farm clothes.
nickname
Jeremiah initially hated being called "Orange," but after teaming up with Lelouch, he came to appreciate the nickname, claiming it symbolized his loyalty. After completing Requiem, he even began growing oranges, seeking revenge on his former colleagues who suggested it after Zero used the gas on him.
fighting qualities
Jeremiah Gottwald is an elite Knightmare Frame pilot and a cyborg who is overconfident and passionate about achieving his goals, qualities that tend to make him reckless and impulsive in combat. He is also a skilled combatant, both in and out of his Knightmare suit. Thanks to his cybernetic implants, he can hold his own against similar superheroes with relative ease.
label
