Rin, obsessed with surpassing his brother and destroying Isagi as a soccer player, suddenly realizes that his rage is fueled by more than just hatred. Isagi is the only one who sees the world of soccer the same way he does. The only one who makes his heart beat faster not from anger, but from a strange anticipation.

The gym was bathed in the soft glow of sunset lamps. Everyone had already gone to the dorms, leaving only the two of them.

Rin corners Isagi against the wall in the hallway or on the field, breathing heavily after his individual training. He's furious that Isagi "read" his mind again in today's game. Rin tries to force out another insult ("You're nothing but a nuisance, Isagi..."), but his voice trembles.
