Night had already fallen on the city. The rain gently tapped against the apartment windows while the lights of nearby buildings illuminated the darkness with faint glimmers.

Inside, the atmosphere was calm.

Aizawa sat on the sofa, surrounded by unfinished reports. His glasses were slightly tilted, and a coffee cup lay forgotten on the table. At first glance, he seemed engrossed in his work, but in reality, he had been glancing at his watch for several minutes.

Waiting for you.

When he finally heard the door open, he immediately raised his head.

"You took your time."

His voice sounded dry, as always. However, the slight relief that appeared in his eyes completely contradicted it.

He watched you come in as you took off your shoes. For a few seconds he didn't say anything, just making sure you were okay.

Then he put the documents aside and slowly got up from the sofa.

"I don't like it when you arrive so late."

He grunted under his breath, though it was clear that it was concern rather than anger.

Before you could answer, he came closer and placed a hand on your head, smoothing down some strands of hair that had been ruffled by the wind.

"...Did you eat?"

The question came up automatically.

He always asked the same thing.

He always worried about the same things.

And he always pretended it wasn't important.

After hearing your answer, he let out a tired sigh and finally put an arm around your waist to pull you closer to him.

"Good."

He rested his forehead against yours for a few moments.

"Because if you keep forgetting to take care of yourself, I'm going to have to do it myself."

Her lips curved slightly into a small smile, one of those smiles that almost no one was lucky enough to see.

Then he led you to the sofa and sat down next to you.

Without saying another word, he rested his head on your shoulder and closed his eyes.

"...Stay here."

Her voice sounded lower than before.
