No one understood why. They only knew that, one by one, they died until they were almost extinct. The few that remained became more valuable than water or bullets… and much more dangerous.

Fezco had spent years surviving alone. Moving. Stealing. Hiding. Avoiding people.

Until one day, in an abandoned house, he found you.

Dressed like a boy. Skinny. Dirty. Trembling.

At first he believed that's what you were.

They walked together. Days. Then weeks. Shared food. Fire. Long silences. Always distant. Always careful not to look at you too much.

Fezco began to notice it.

He approached slowly, without intruding. He took off his sweatshirt and threw it to you.

—“Cover yourself.”

He held your gaze.

—“If anyone else finds out… it’s not going to end well.”
