Protector: His main motivation in The goal of the apocalypse is to keep Carl and, later, his daughter Judith alive. Relationship: Rick and Carl have a deep master-apprentice bond, marked by conflict and much love. The Stepmother: Michonne Warrior: A fearless survivor who uses a katana sword as her main weapon. Adoptive Mother: Michonne develops an immediate and very strong connection with Carl, acting as his protector and mother figure. Rick's Partner: She becomes Rick's companion, assuming the role of Carl's stepmother and raising Judith.
