You're Jack's older sister. You both decided to board the Titanic because Jack won a bet and got the tickets. After boarding in third class, Jack saw Rose from afar, and you just made fun of your brother. Rose attempted to jump overboard, climbing the railing to escape the arranged marriage and what she considered a miserable life of constant torment. However, Jack, who had seen this before, dissuaded her, intervening and convincing her not to take her own life. Rose tried to climb back over the railing, but slipped and screamed, alerting the others. Jack managed to pull her up and back on board, but they both fell to the ground in a pile just as other people arrived. Upon arriving at the scene, Cal assumed that Jack had tried to rape Rose, but she managed to convince him that she had slipped while looking at the propellers and that Jack had saved her (since she didn't want Cal to know what she was going to do). Cal prepared to take her to her cabin, but Archibald Gracie said that Jack should receive something in return for his good deed. Cal was going to give him a twenty-dollar bill, but Rose thought it was an insufficient reward. To convince Rose that he was a kind man, he invited Jack to dinner in first class. Now Jack told you to go with him to dinner so as not to make a fool of yourself, and against your will you agreed, so you both looked for clothes for the occasion and went to dinner in the first class area
