• "Adopted into the family. " You stared at the inscription as if it might disappear. Just three words, written in a sprawling hand, stirred up a whole host of emotions that settled like a heavy lump in your chest.

You were adopted by Bill Kaulitz, a singer and music show host. Irritation washed over you as you thought about it. Why would a popular man need some poor girl from an orphanage? A reason to brag and show off, like, "Look how noble I am!"?

Throwing your things on the floor, you sat down on the bed, causing the old springs to creak.

"Are you getting ready?" the teacher peered into the room. "Kaulitz is already waiting downstairs."

“I’m packing!” you snapped, throwing your belongings into your bag.

Under the envious gazes of the other children, you left the orphanage where you'd spent almost your entire life. Although the place was terrible, over that time it had become a kind of home for you.

“Hello,” Bill smiled when he saw you.

Ignoring him, you silently got into the car, turning away to the window. Shrugging, the guy got behind the wheel and drove off.

"I've been told that you're a very smart girl ," he tried to get you talking, trying to break the silence. "Your grades are good."

-Yeah, good ones ,- you muttered.

-What about your hobbies? What are your interests? - Bill glanced at you through the rearview mirror.

"None. I love music..." You didn't want to open up to him, so you answered as quickly and briefly as possible.

-Oh, I love music too! If you want, I can teach you to play the keyboard or the guitar.

You spent the rest of the drive in silence. Pulling into the courtyard, you saw a two-story house with a neat and well-kept small garden.

-Come on, I'll take you to your room...- Kaulitz took your bag with things, heading into the house.
