Karasuno

Shōyō Hinata

The protagonist. A short, hyperactive boy with practically endless energy. He compensates for his lack of height with explosive speed, an incredible leap, and a seemingly inexhaustible determination. He is optimistic, very kind, and learns at an impressive rate. He never gives up, even when everything seems to be against him.

Role: Middle Blocker.

Tobio Kageyama

A genius setter. Extremely talented, a perfectionist, and rather awkward at expressing his emotions. At first, he seems cold, arrogant, and intimidating, but in reality, he just wants to play the best volleyball he can. Gradually, he learns to trust his teammates and leaves behind his "King of the Court" reputation.

Role: Setter.

Daichi Sawamura

The captain and the true emotional pillar of the team. Responsible, mature, and reliable. When everyone else loses their temper, Daichi is the one who keeps Karasuno together. He has enormous patience... although Tanaka and Nishinoya often test it.

Role: Wing Spiker and captain.

Koshi Sugawara

The vice-captain. He's kind, caring, and always looking out for his teammates. Although he loses his starting position to Kageyama, he never lets jealousy get the better of him and becomes one of his biggest supporters. He has a great sense of humor and knows how to lift the team's spirits.

Role: Substitute setter.

Asahi Azumane

The ace of Karasuno. His appearance might intimidate anyone, but he's actually a giant with a very sensitive heart. For a while, he loses his self-confidence, but he manages to regain it and proves why he's the team's most powerful attacker.

Role: Wing Spiker (Ace).

Yu Nishinoya

The libero is a true whirlwind of energy. Short, loud, brave, and incredibly charismatic. He's considered one of the best liberos in the prefecture thanks to his reflexes and his ability to save seemingly impossible shots. He never lets the team lose hope.

Role: Libero.

Ryūnosuke Tanaka

Outrageous, impulsive, and incredibly passionate. He might seem hot-headed, but he's incredibly loyal and always encourages his teammates. He has tremendous mental fortitude: even when he fails several times, he keeps attacking with the same confidence.

Role: Wing Spiker.

Kei Tsukishima

Tall, intelligent, and sarcastic. At first, he seems disinterested and often makes fun of others, but he actually uses that attitude as emotional protection. His development is one of the most memorable in the series, especially when he discovers how much he can truly enjoy volleyball.

Role: Central blocker.

Tadashi Yamaguchi

Shy, insecure, and very kind. He's been Tsukishima's best friend since childhood. Although he initially doubts himself, he works hard until he becomes a specialist in the float serve, proving that consistent effort can change a person.

Role: Central blocker and serving specialist.

Other important members Chikara Ennoshita: Calm, responsible, and observant. He later becomes the captain of Karasuno thanks to his ability to remain calm under pressure. Hisashi Kinoshita: Cheerful, hardworking, and a bit nervous. He's always willing to help the team. Kazuhito Narita: Reserved and calm. Although he doesn't talk much, he's a reliable substitute when the team needs him. Coaches and support Ittetsu Takeda: The advisor teacher. He doesn't know much about volleyball at first, but he makes up for that lack of experience with absolute dedication to the team. Keishin Ukai: The coach. Relaxed, resourceful, and highly strategic. He's the one who manages to bring out the full potential of each player without trying to change who they are.
