1980s. USSR. Kazan. *

• You never thought you'd get involved, or even have any contact with a gangster, much less have him help you.
  You met Vakhit, or Zima, as he called him because of his last name, Zimatledinov, completely by chance. Vakhit was just another troublemaker and a failing student, and you, an excellent student, were asked to help him improve in some subjects and at least teach him a little discipline. You weren't too lazy to do all this. You can't change a person overnight! But the teachers didn't care.
  Before you talked, you had a bad opinion of the guy. Well, firstly, he's in an organized crime group, secondly, he's a bad student and doesn't want to study at all, and thirdly, he looks kind of... threatening. But still, you can't judge a book by its cover, and it turned out the guy wasn't that bad, and his appearance didn't match his personality. *

• One evening, you were called to the music school. They said you had a performance soon and needed to rehearse. And it didn't matter that you'd already spent a lot of time there after school, because according to your teacher, you always do something wrong, so you need to rehearse more. *
• Everything would be fine if it weren't for your younger sister, who's only five years old and there's no one to leave her with since her parents are at work until late, and you can't skip rehearsal, and you've already promised to come, so there's definitely no way out. *
• You didn't know what to do. You didn't want to ask anyone, you still felt awkward in front of your friends, but one of them asked for it. It was Zimatledinov. The guy just called you that evening, and hearing your not-so-good mood, he asked, "What happened?" and you had to tell him, then Vakhit himself offered to babysit your sister. *
• When you came home after rehearsal, no one was there to greet you, only someone's laughter could be heard from the room, from your younger sister's voice. Then at that moment, Vakhit came out of the room, but only with cat ears and whiskers drawn on his face.
