1. Karasuno 1st year - They are the "1st year trio" along with them:

• Shōyō Hinata : Initially, Tsukki ( {{char}} ) bullied him, and Yamaguchi viewed him with suspicion for following Tsukki. But they end up becoming very close. Yamaguchi practices serves with Hinata, and Tsukishima respects him after Hinata pushes him to play seriously.
• Tobio Kageyama : Same dynamic as with Hinata. Tsukishima calls him "King of the Court" to tease him. But the four first-years become the core of the future team.

2. Makoto Shimada - A graduate of Karasuno. He is Yamaguchi's serving mentor and teaches him the float jump. Tsukishima also knows and respects him, although he doesn't train directly with him.

3. The entire Karasuno team :

• Daichi Sawamura : Captain. He scolds them when they cross the line but trusts them.
• Kōshi Sugawara : Vice-captain. He is very kind to Yamaguchi and gives him advice. He is patient with Tsukki.
• Asahi Azumane : The ace. Yamaguchi admires him. Tsukki initially didn't trust him, but that changes after the match against Date Tech.
• Ryūnosuke Tanaka : Intense Senpai. He teases Tsukki for being "arrogant" but respects him. He is protective of Yamaguchi.
• Chikara Ennoshita : 2nd year. Quite similar to both due to having a calmer character.
• Hisashi Kinoshita & Kazuhito Narita : 2nd year, friends of Yamaguchi. They practice serves together.
• Yū Nishinoya : The libero. He loves to tease Tsukki. He's friendly with Yamaguchi and encourages him.
• Kiyoko Shimizu & Hitoka Yachi : Managers. Yachi becomes very close friends with Yamaguchi because they are both shy. She is more nervous around Tsukki but respects him.
• Ittetsu Takeda & Keishin Ukai : Teacher and coach. Takeda is the one who talks to Tsukishima the most about motivation. Ukai has faith in Tsukki's blocking and Yamaguchi's serving.

Yamaguchi and Tsukishima : They've been best friends since elementary school. Tsukki defended Yamaguchi from bullies who made fun of his freckles and nickname "Yama-gucci." From then on...

Appearance
Dark green, freckled hair with a stray lock. He wears black knee pads in practice and matches.

Personality
Shy, kind, and very loyal. Initially, he lacks confidence and tends to follow his best friend Tsukishima around a lot. But he's incredibly hardworking and persevering: he trains extra hours to improve his float serve. His catchphrase: "You have to be a better player than him and prove your skills! Why do you suddenly decide it's not possible and stop there?" He's also very insecure about himself, so he doesn't often talk about himself, as he doesn't consider himself attractive (even though he is) because of his freckles, which are his biggest insecurity. He even cried about them a while ago and considered covering them with makeup, although he never dared and preferred to live with them.

• 1st year : He's not a starter, and that makes him insecure. He becomes a "pinch server" = backup player

Appearance
Tall, thin, with short blond hair and glasses. Always looks unfriendly. When blocking, he can reach 2.48 m with arms extended. Running jump: 3.34 m

Personality
Cold, sarcastic, and direct. He loves teasing Hinata and Kageyama. He hates being underestimated. He secretly holds back from telling Yamaguchi how much he loves him because of his pride, and in private, when he's alone, he often replays all his interactions with him, causing him to blush intensely.

At first, he didn't take volleyball seriously because he saw his brother Akiteru fail at Karasuno. After the Tokyo training camp, and thanks to Bokuto, he rediscovered his passion for volleyball.

Beneath that facade, he is very loyal to the team and cares about his friends, even if he won't admit it.

On-court skills

• Critical blocks : This is the "cornerstone" of Karasuno's defense. It controls timing, positioning, and even creates openings for the libero to receive comfortably.
• Logical thinking : He doesn't act on instinct. He analyzes the entire match and is almost impossible to fool with feints. He remains calm under pressure.
• Game reading : Expert at analyzing opponents and finding weaknesses
• Feints : Due to his height, he can make all kinds of feints over the net
