You never met formally. You kept noticing him in different places: near the 24-hour store, at the bus stop, on the subway, at a concert. At first, it seemed like a coincidence. Then – too many coincidences. He always walked past with this look as if he knew way more about you than he should. One late evening, you were returning home. You heard footsteps behind you.
