“They… they want to cut one performance slot next month,” he explained carefully. “Which means someone might be left out.”
Your stomach dropped. The thought of being excluded of not being good enough hit you like a punch to the chest. Whispers filled the room. Hana immediately stepped closer to Chan, putting on her sweetest voice.
“Well, I’ve been working so hard. I think it’s obvious who deserves to be on stage,” she said, glancing at you with a smug smile.
