Greeting
π Episode 1 β A Simple Greeting During a break at Monte Verde University, Arthur was chatting with Leonardo, Gustavo, Beatriz, and Helena, the most popular group on campus. Amidst laughter and college talk, a student walked by in the hallway. It was Mhateus. Discreet as always, he was walking towards the library when his gaze met Arthur's. For a moment, Arthur simply observed that reserved young man who was almost never seen talking to anyone. Without much thought, he offered a simple greeting. β Hey, Matheus! Mhateus looked in her direction, responded with a brief smile, and continued walking. It was just a greeting... but sometimes the greatest friendships begin with the simplest gestures. βWhat will Arthur's next decision be? Will he simply continue observing Matheus or seize the next opportunity to start a conversation?

the truth
Artur decided to tell Mhateus the truth about the credit card; he still had it, but his father had taken it away. At first, Artur was upset, but he soon realized that his friends didn't actually like Artur, but rather what Artur could offer. Artur already saw Mhateus, but didn't consider him a friend. However, over time, he saw in Mhateus something that money couldn't buy: trust and loyalty. Artur's former friends apologized, but even so, Artur didn't want to continue with that status-based friendship. He preferred to have Mhateus as a true friend, because they had developed a brotherly bond.
Arthur's father returned Arthur's credit card and everything, the freedom to flaunt his wealth, but Arthur didn't really care about that anymore.
Freedom without a credit card.
Amidst the challenges of university life, it's not always the person who appears to have everything who possesses the most sincere friendships. Artur had always lived surrounded by comfort, accustomed to conveniences and the recognition his last name afforded him. However, after some of his actions, his parents decide to teach him a lesson: they temporarily take away his credit cards and cut off some privileges, forcing him to deal with a reality different from the one he knew. Without the money and status to open doors, Artur begins to realize who truly cares about him and who was only interested in what he could offer. It is at this moment that his friendship with Mhatteus is put to the test, showing that true friendship does not depend on social class, wealth, or appearance, but on trust, respect, and loyalty.
The Five Most Popular Students at the University
Arthur Albuquerque, Leonardo Vasconcellos, Gustavo Almeida, Beatriz Carvalho, and Helena Sampaio were known as the five most popular students at Monte Verde University. Children of traditional and influential families in the city, they lived surrounded by prestige, parties, luxury, and recognition on campus. Over time, Arthur's parents decided to reduce his privileges and control his spending. The parties decreased, the ostentatious lifestyle ended, and he began to lead a much more discreet life. The decision was made so that Arthur could mature and learn that money should not define his relationships. Quickly, rumors began to circulate around the university. Many came to believe that the Albuquerque family was facing financial difficulties. Without confirming the story, Leonardo, Gustavo, Beatriz, and Helena distanced themselves from Arthur, replacing their former friendship with irony, discreet comments, and small provocations. It was during this period that Arthur became close to Mhateus, a middle-class scholarship student who never showed any interest in his financial situation. The friendship arose naturally, through simple greetings and conversations between classes. Annoyed by this closeness, the four began to subtly provoke Mhateus, using his humble origins and scholarship as a reason to belittle him. While everyone believed the rumors, Arthur simply observed who would remain by his side when status ceased to be the focus. That's how he discovered that Mhateus was the only friendship built on character, not fortune.
Arthur Albuquerque
Arthur Albuquerque is the son of one of the city's most influential business families. Surrounded by people since childhood, he grew up distrustful of the intentions of those who approached him. To discover who his true friends were, he decided to hide his financial status and spread the rumor that his parents had taken away his credit card. This decision caused many to distance themselves. However, during this period, he grew closer to Mhateus through simple greetings in the university hallways. Gradually, their conversations became frequent, and Arthur found someone who valued his friendship, not his fortune. Since then, he has seen Mhateus as a brother and does everything to protect him, keeping his true identity a secret.
Arthur still has his credit card, but his friends thought he didn't. Mhateus also believed this, but they didn't care because Mhateus only wanted to study to become someone with means, and over time Arthur grew closer to Mhateus.
Arthur's old friends still don't know that he's without his credit card, but when they find out, that's when the friendship starts to cool down, except with Matheus.
Mhateus
Mhateus is a middle-class young man who earned a full scholarship thanks to his excellent academic performance. Tall, athletic, and striking-looking, he naturally attracts attention, but he has never sought popularity. Reserved, polite, and observant, he prefers to listen before speaking and maintains a very small circle of friends. He doesn't judge anyone by their financial status and believes that character is worth more than any surname or wealth. His simplicity and authenticity are precisely what make him different from most students at Monte Verde University.
Monte Verde University
Monte Verde University is one of the most prestigious institutions in the city. Known for its academic excellence, it brings together the children of businesspeople, doctors, lawyers, and other influential families. Despite this, it also offers full scholarships to high-achieving students, believing that merit should have a place alongside tradition. The environment is competitive, elegant, and marked by social differences. While some students live surrounded by luxury and status, others have earned their place solely through hard work. Respect among students is one of the institution's rules, although rivalries, provocations, and popularity contests are part of daily life.
