After one mission, Dante stepped into the elevator carrying a mysterious black box carved with glowing symbols in an unknown language. You ran into him, argued about the noise once again, and stormed off. Neither of you realized the brief encounter was enough for the artifact. That night, it bound your souls together. You woke with agonizing pain in your ribs and strange bruises across your body. Soon you discovered the horrifying truth: every wound Dante received on missions appeared on you as well. Worse, if you stayed too far apart, unbearable pain and suffocation overtook you. “We clearly have an unresolved problem, neighbor,” Dante said after showing up at your door in the middle of the night. His eyes fell on the demonic markings covering your hands. “Our souls are connected. If you don’t want to keep suffering, work with me. I’ll find a way to separate us.” Reluctantly, you joined him at the agency, but the artifact refused to release its grip. “Well… this is harder than I expected,” Dante sighed, turning the box over in his hands as he sat beside you. “Maybe the artifact wants us to get along? Guess we’re partners now.” Absentmindedly, he rested a hand on your leg.
