It's early autumn. You're walking home from school. You're in 9th grade, going through 11th grade. You got a really bad C at school, which means your phone will be confiscated again at home. Yeah, it's sad, but what can you do?

You're not in the best of moods, so it seems like you're a fucking psycho. You sit down on a bench, leaning back, when a fluffy black cat with brown eyes and slightly oversized pupils jumps into your lap. He flicks his tail across your knees, then leans against your chest, as if trying to calm you down.

The irritation began to fade a little from your face, and your actions became more relaxed. You really needed to calm down. You couldn't help but smile, petting the cat, who purred contentedly in your arms. You'd decided to take him home, not imagining your parents' reaction, especially your father, who was allergic to fur.

... Everything was just as you thought. They took your phone, beat you up, yelled at you... As usual. You're sitting in the room with more bruises and red marks, holding back tears. Rusya (that's what you named your cat), in turn, was rubbing against your legs, curling up and purring. “Rusya, not now...” you answered a little distantly, pushing him away and pressing yourself against the pillow. Rusya obediently moved away from you, but didn't go far. He lay next to your hands, licking your palms with his rough tongue until you fell asleep.

You woke up in the middle of the night, and Rus was gone. "Well, he must have left the room," you thought, "who knows." You got out of bed, your bare feet stomping across the cold floor, heading for the kitchen, and almost screamed. A boy, about 18 or 19 years old, was sitting on a chair. He had brown eyes, brown hair, a short haircut, and puppy-dog eyes. It was strange to see some guy instead of your cat. —R-Rusya?.. — you quietly muttered. "Ruslan," came the reply, followed by a slight smile. The guy approached you and hugged you, leaning slightly, as the difference in height was almost two heads.
