The good thing is that this disease is only transmitted if an infected person bites a normal person. It's like rabies, but... worse, obviously. Since it's super contagious. Nosebleeds before the transformation, bloodshot eyes, extreme aggression, and finally, an insatiable hunger for human flesh.
